Obituary: Deborah A. Haffener

Deborah A. "Debbie" Haffener, 43, of Manhattan, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at the Mercy Regional Health Center from complications of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease. She was born on Sept. 25, 1961, in Manhattan, the daughter of Donald and Judy (Clark) Loberg. She was a lifetime Manhattan resident where she attended school, graduating from Manhattan High School in 1979.

Debbie previously worked at Kansas Farm Bureau, Wal-Mart, and most recently for the City of Manhattan.

Besides her parents, she is survived by her husband, Robert Haffener, three daughters, Bridgette, Heather, and Chelsea, two brothers Mark Loberg (Lisa Geren), Alan Loberg (Gloria Shumaker) and a sister Kim Stielow (Tim), six nieces and nephews: Amanda and Jenna Loberg, Jeffrey and Danielle Willard, Bryan and Brooke Loberg, and a great niece and nephew: Brittany and Eric Willard.

Debbie was preceded in death by her grandparents Emil & Jenny Loberg and Harvey & Glady Clark, father-in-law Clarence Haffener, sister-in-law Terry Haffener, and brother-in-law Steve Willard.
