Obituary: Jennifer Lynn (Hunter) Waters, age 46, of Manhattan, died Friday evening, November 16, 2007, at her parent’s home.

She was born on April 10, 1961, in Manhattan, Kansas, the daughter of William R. “Billy Bob” and Delores (Harris) Hunter. Jennifer was a lifetime area resident and a 1979 graduate of Manhattan High School.
Jennifer worked in sales for numerous stores in Manhattan throughout her lifetime. Her first position was with Alco on the west side of Manhattan. She later went to work for J.C. Penney’s, Maurice’s, and Dillard’s department stores in the Manhattan Town Center Mall. She spent many years with Dillard’s where she became the Clinique Manager. She most recently had been employed by the Holiday Inn at the K.S.U. Campus.

On July 12, 1997, she was united in marriage to Mikel G. Burton. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1998.
Jennifer was later united in marriage to Kirk Waters, on June 26, 2000, at Key Largo, Florida. He survives of the home. Also surviving are two sons: Joshua Waters of Manhattan and Tyler Waters of Emporia, her parents: William R. “Billy Bob” and Delores Hunter of Manhattan and her two sisters: Nancy Stephens and her husband John Ramsey of Ogden, Kansas and Jill Day and her companion Harry Baxter of Manhattan. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews: Tim and Jennifer Stephens, Rick Stephens and Ryan and Lauren Day.
Jennifer was preceded in death by one son: Jeremy Ribeau, and by two brothers: Ricky and Steve Hunter.
