Obituary: Lawrence "Larry" Scott

Lawrence E. “Larry” Scott, former Manhattan resident, died at his residence on November 18, 2006, in Kansas City North after a brief illness, at the age of 45. Larry was born on June 10, 1961, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, the son of Charlotte Scott Kelly and the late Dr. Robert E. Scott of Manhattan.

He attended grade schools in Pittsburg, Kansas and Manhattan, Kansas, and graduated from Manhattan High School in 1979. He attended Kansas State University and graduated from the Area Vocational Technical School in 1984. Larry loved sports. He lettered in wrestling at Manhattan High School and enjoyed playing golf in his adult years. Larry was a financial computer programmer in the Kansas City area.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Robert E. Scott. Larry is survived by his mother, Charlotte Scott Kelly, and his step father Ch (MajGen) Orris E. Kelly USA ret, of Manhattan, Kansas, a sister: Janice Scott Horn and her husband Jeff of Lincoln, Nebraska; a brother: Paul Robert Scott and his wife Sharon of Highland Village, Texas; and by his nephews and nieces, Matthew Horn, Rebekah Horn, Sierra Scott, and Hunter Scott.
